Free Download Gone with the Wind Ebook. Margaret Mitchell's epic novel of love and war won the Pulitzer Prize and one of the most popular and celebrated movies of all time.

Many novels have been written about the Civil War and its aftermath. None take us into the burning fields and cities of the American South as Gone With the Wind does, creating haunting scenes and thrilling portraits of characters so vivid that we remember their words and feel their fear and hunger for the rest of our lives.

In the two main characters, the white-shouldered, irresistible Scarlett and the flashy, contemptuous Rhett, Margaret Mitchell not only conveyed a timeless story of survival under the harshest of circumstances, she also created two of the most famous lovers in the English-speaking world since Romeo and Juliet.

The dearest thing that can last the most is something whose love comes most gently, like home, parents, and old friends
  • Great book, not so great edition

Man, can this woman write! Too bad this edition was riddled with typos. I guess I should have expected it for how cheap it was...

So I’ve seen the movie about ten times at least and because my sweet departed mother read this in her youth decided I needed to read it too. The movie was great for entertainment but I will never see this story the same. It will haunt me forever, I literally sobbed in sections. The author masterfully takes you to another place and time and mind. And while some of the racial slurs and comments are shocking at times, you have to remember the time it was written and the period it was written about. There’s also a great amount of history gained by this novel in reference to the latter and the war in general. Amazing is too small a word to describe this read. It touched my soul. Precious precious story.

An incredibly sad love story of two people never able to capture their image of love and therefore ruining their lives. A great story of the pre and post civil war era from a perspective you don’t often read about.

I paid $0.99 expecting to receive the entire novel, but only received 2 sample pages. Impossible to review a novel based on 2 pages - consider this a review of the unacceptable, incomplete delivery of this particular edition.
